Daniel J Cook
Licensed Mental Health Counselor
Executive Clinical Director
Daniel is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor and Psychotherapist in New York and Massachusetts. He specializes in couples and men's mental and relational health (though not exclusively), including depression, relationship challenges, addiction, out of control sexual behavior, anger management, and trauma recovery. Understanding the specific needs of men in the modern world, he tailors his therapeutic approach to address this under-served and overwhelmed population. His work is integrative; meeting his clients as they are, he facilitates curiosity and accountability in accepting where they are and where they want to go.
He obtained his Master’s Degree in Transpersonal Counseling Psychology from Naropa University, specializing in Gestalt and Mindfulness-based therapeutic approaches.
He has further trauma and attachment training from the Sensorimotor Psychotherapy Institute and is a Certified Psychedelic Assisted Psychotherapist through the Integrative Psychiatry Institute.
Daniel is a current Visiting Instructor for Naropa University’s Master’s of Mindfulness Based Transpersonal Counseling program, teaching Addictions Counseling and Gestalt I and II to budding psychotherapists.
He is an avid improvisational dancer, cyclist, and meditator, and contributes his creative practices to his capacity as a therapist.
